The 3rd Belt and Road Teenager Maker Camp & Teacher Workshop Successfully Closed in Nanning, Guangxi
The Awarding Ceremony of the 3rd Belt and Road Teenager Maker Camp & Teacher Workshop was held in Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on the afternoon of September 29th. The Award Ceremony was attended by the following distinguished guests who presented awards to the winners: Na Xiang, Secretary of Leading Party Members' Group and Vice President of Guangxi Association for Science and Technology; Zhang Zhenwei, Deputy Director General of Children & Youth Science Center of CAST ; Tan Mingxing, Member of Leading Party Members' Group and Executive Vice President of Chongqing Association for Science and Technology; Manzoor Hussain Soomro, ECO Science Foundation; Jacqueline Alice Akinyi Olang, Executive Director of the Network of African Science Academies (NASAC); and high-ranking officials from organizers such as Guangxi Association for Science and Technology of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Department of Science and Technology, and Nanning Municipal Government.
During this one-week event, by rolling out 8 STEAM courses for teenager makers from various countries and region, including intelligent robots, colorful chemistry, airplane model, the art of electric video making, this grand initiative have selected 34 "Best Maker" projects, 41 "Best Presentation " projects and 63 "Best Teamwork" projects. There were also special awards granted by the UNESCO Center Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Tunisian Association for the Future of Science and Technology to 10 outstanding teenagers who were invited to relevant international science and technology contests and exchange activities.

In his speech, Na Xiang pointed out that this event has, by leveraging the unique geographical advantages of Guangxi as an important hub along the "Belt and Road", fully showcased the multi-ethnic cultural integration in Guangxi, promoted the exchanges and mutual learning between different civilizations, countries and regions, and built a cultural exchange platform for knowledge learning, mutual understanding and friendship building.
In his concluding remarks, Zhang Zhenwei said that friendship, which derives from close contacts between peoples, holds the key to sound state-to-state relations. Teenagers are the future of the world, the hope of science and the future backbone forces in building the "Belt and Road", and that the original goal of this event was to build a scientific, technological and cultural exchange platform for teenagers from countries and regions along the "Belt and Road". He hoped that all participants could start from here and become a messenger of friendship, a builder of friendly ties and a promoter of in-depth cooperation.

The Flag Handover Ceremony was also held at the Awarding Ceremony. The 4th Belt and Road Teenager Maker Camp & Teacher Workshop will be held in Chongqing in 2020.
