Introduction
Jointly sponsored by China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST) and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Third Belt and Road Teenager Maker Camp & Teacher Workshop was held in Nanning, Guangxi on September 24-30. Actively echoed by Asian, European, African, American and Oceanian countries and regions along the "Belt and Road", this grand event attracted the participation of more than 300 young science enthusiasts, science teachers and representatives of science education administrations and organizations from 37 countries and regions, as well as high-ranking officials from a host of international organizations. Meanwhile, the heads of IAP SEP, ECO Science Foundation and Network of African Science Academies were also invited to attend the opening ceremony and other relevant activities, all in an effort to build a grand networking event for young science enthusiasts and science educators.

Nanning of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region
Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (short for "Gui") is one of the five autonomous regions for the ethnic minorities in China, and is the common homeland where multi-ethnic groups live in harmony. It covers an area of 237,600 kilometers, including 14 cities, 111 counties (cities or districts). The region has a population of more than 56 million, comprising nationalities of Zhuang, Han, Yao, Miao, Dong, Yi, Mulao, Maonan, Hui, Jing, Shui and Gelao. Among them, people of the Zhuang nationality accounts for about 31.54%, which is the largest minority group in China. Guangxi is the forefront and window for China's opening-up to and cooperation with ASEAN countries. It is located at the junction of South China economic circle, Southwest China economic circle and ASEAN economic circle, with a coastline length of 1628.59 kilometers and a land boundary line length of about 1020 kilometers. In Guangxi, there are eight counties (cities or districts) bordering Vietnam, and it is the only province in West China that is located along both the coast and the border.
Nanning, short for "Yong", is the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the political, economic, transportation, science, education, financial and information center of the whole Region, the frontier city of China's opening-up and cooperation with ASEAN countries, the permanent host city of China- ASEAN Expo, a core city of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, and an important portal city for the organic link of the "Belt and Road". Nanning is known as the "green city of China", and has won the titles such as "UN Habitat Award", "National Civilized City" and "National Ecological Garden City". The annual Nanning International Folk Song Arts Festival enjoys a great reputation both at home and abroad, making Nanning become "the place to which the world's folk songs are attached".
Nanning covers an area of 22,100 kilometers and has a permanent population of more than 7 million. Nanning enjoys a superior geographical position. It is located in south Guangxi, the subtropical zone and south of the tropic of cancer and at the junction of South China, Southwest China and China-ASEAN economic circle, faces Southeast Asia and is adjacent to the Great Southwest. Besides, it is close to Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in the east and Beibu Gulf in the south; it is located at the junction of South China economic circle, Southwest China economic circle and ASEAN economic circle and also the meeting point of such regional cooperation as Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation, Greater Mekong Sub-regional Cooperation and Pan-Pearl River Delta Cooperation.
